The former owner of Springfield’s Plaza Towers has pled guilty to federal charges of illegal firearm possession and tax fraud.
Marco Denis faces state charges for domestic assault and kidnapping related to an incident with his ex-girlfriend.
In his plea, Denis admitted to being a domestic violence offender in possession of a firearm and filing a false tax return.
He faces potential sentences of up to 15 years for the firearm charge and three years for tax fraud.
His next court appearance is scheduled for January 13, 2026.
