New Details in Deadly Shooting at 505 Apartments in Springfield

We’re learning more about last week’s deadly shooting at the 505 Apartments along St. Louis Street in downtown Springfield.

Online court records show Candise Hoskins from Springfield is charged with second degree murder under the felony murder rule, which means a death occurred during the commission, attempted commission, or immediate flight from a felony.

Surveillance footage shows Hoskins and Xavier Scott struggling in the hallway.

Hoskins began walking away, but Scott followed and struck Hoskins in the head.

She fell to the ground and they wrestled for a moment.

Around 11:20pm Wednesday, Scott’s body went limp on the footage, and Hoskins was seen leaving the hallway.

Scott was later found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the face.
