Three People Cited For Poaching Nearly 1,000 Fish in Camden County

Three people have been cited for poaching in Camden County after Missouri conservation agents say they illegally harvested hundreds of fish from a small stream.

Conservation Agent Justin Emery reportedly caught the individuals back in September using throwing nets to take fish illegally.

The group was found with 14 smallmouth bass, 28 redear sunfish, 237 suckers, and 713 other bait fish.

All three pleaded guilty to the poaching charges and were issued penalties by the Camden County court.

The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to remind the public that poaching is illegal. Report any suspicious activity to the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-392-1111.
