A man from Wright County has been arrested after allegedly threatening an elected official on Tuesday.
Online court dockets show that Kenneth Penn of Norwood has been charged with first-degree terrorist threat and first-degree stalking.
According to the probable cause statement, an employee with the Wright County Clerk’s Office answered a call from Penn, who started to make threats against the official.
The employee told law enforcement that this had been the second call Penn made to their office in two days, and that Penn allegedly state that he was drunk and angry, and was going to assault someone “down there”.
He then added that he’d meet the official “down there with a shotgun”. The worker said that they took “down there” to mean the courthouse.
Law enforcement spoke with the victim, who stated that Penn had been threatening them for nearly 5 years and that they wished to press charges.
Penn was arrested and is currently being held in the Wright County Jail on a $10,000 bond. His initial court appearance is set for November 7.
