Missouri AG Hanaway Sues Bolivar, MO Contractor for Allegedly Scamming Customers

A business owner in Bolivar, MO is facing a lawsuit from Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway.

Court dockets show that Hanaway’s office has filed a lawsuit against Premier DirtWorks and Concrete, LLC and its owner, Kenneth Nutter.

The petition alleges violations of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act and seeks an injunction, restitution for customers, civil penalties and other relief.

According to the petition, Premier DirtWorks and Nutter advertised and sold construction services from June 2024 through January 2025, but failed to complete contracted projects after receiving large upfront payments.

Customers also allegedly have paid tens of thousands of dollars for shop building construction projects that were never started and no refunds were issued by the company.

AG Hanaway’s office argues that Nutter and his business engaged in deception, false promises, unfair practices, omissions of material facts and misrepresentations in violation of Missouri law.

Her office is asking that the court permanently prohibit Nutter and his business from advertising, soliciting, selling, or performing residential construction work in the state.

Nutter commented on the allegations, stating that life circumstances effected things but that he has one of the cases against him paid off and will have another settled before the end of the week.
