President Donald Trump has announced that the state of Missouri will receive $2.5 million for individual assistance following severe weather that hit the state earlier this year.
Trump stated in a Truth Social post that he had spoken with Governor Mike Kehoe about him approving the funds for severe storms, high winds, large hail, flash flooding and tornadoes that the state faced in the early months of 2025.
One such disaster was the May 16 tornado that hit St. Louis, resulting in five deaths and an estimated $1.6 billion in damages.
Kehoe posted on Truth Social as well, thanking President Trump for the additional assistance and indicating that the funds will go to areas in southwest Missouri that were hit.
Trump ended his post by showing gratitude to the state of Missouri, which he won the votes of in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections.
