Two People Escape Fire Near Ozark, MO

Two people were able to escape a fire near Ozark yesterday morning.

Highlandville firefighters responded to a house fire around 4 a.m. in the 7300 block of U.S. 65.

According to crews, they responded quickly to the fire, but the lack of space around the home and a lack of tanker assistance caused significant issues.

The home was also a bit off-road and down a narrow driveway, meaning there wasn’t much room to maneuver fire trucks.

Crews spent over four hours fighting the blaze, but in the end, firefighters say the house is a total loss.

The state fire marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
