The Ebenezer Fire Protection District has opened a new fire station on land they purchased in 2013.
The new station, located on State Highway WW, is double the size of the district’s old fire station.
Funds from a bond issue that passed in 2023 helped aid the district in opening this new station, as well as purchase new fire trucks and equipment.
Ebenezer FPD serves State Highway 13 and U.S. Highway 65 in north Springfield and the district has scheduled an open house for the new station on October 10th.
However, additions to the district are not finished.
Construction on a training facility for all area departments is currently in the works and is expected to be completed in 2026.
