Sunrise Beach Officer Fired After Arrest, Currently Under Investigation

The Sunrise Beach Police Department have issued a press release, announcing that they have fired one of their officers for alleged criminal activity.

According to Sunrise Beach Police Chief Scott Craig, his office was contacted by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office on July 1 in relation to the arrest and active investigation of 52-year-old Sunrise Beach Officer Peter Fox.

Fox and his girlfriend, 45-year-old Candelaria Stacy, were taken into custody following a traffic stop in the area of State Road MM and Via Del Lago Drive.

Fox and his girlfriend were pulled over Tuesday evening by a Camden County Deputy with the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force, who noted that both occupants were behaving suspiciously and provided inconsistent statements.

After receiving consent to search Fox’s vehicle, the deputy discovered and seized approximately 4 grams of methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia that included syringes, a metal spoon, and a cut straw with methamphetamine residue.

The deputy also seized two loose pills, which were later tested and identified to be benzodiazepine.

Fox and Stacy were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Center, both charged with two counts apiece of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D Felony.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Mid Missouri Drug Task Force, and the Sunrise Beach PD are still investigating the case.
