Heavy Rain Floods Roads in the Springfield Metro Area

Heavy rain led to flash flooding in the Springfield area on Wednesday.

Several cars stalled in high water near Commercial and National at the railway overpass.

The pedestrian bridge at Fassnight Creek Park was flooded for the second time in the last two weeks.

Flash flooding in Webster County led to several water rescues on Wednesday, including two along the Pomme de Terre River at Cologna Road and Greenwood Road just north of I-44 in the Northview area.

Folks in Marshfield experienced significant street flooding Wednesday, with numerous roads closed in and around the city.

Highway W was closed due to flooding along Givins Branch near Elkland.

Severe weather and flooding chances return to the Ozarks on Friday, with another round of showers and thunderstorms expected to move through in the morning hours.

The highest chances for storms will be south of Interstate 44 with some damaging winds and localized flooding potential.
