City and County Declare State of Emergency

Springfield Mayor Jeff Schrag and the Greene County Commissions have declared a state of civil emergency following the severe storm from earlier this week.

The County’s measure will be in effect for seven days and the City’s measure will be in effect for 30 days.

The City Council is expected to ratify the City’s measure in an upcoming meeting.

In a news release, City Utilities said they have restored power to 90-percent of customers who lost powers during Tuesday’s storm.

C-U said at 4:30 pm Friday that 3,665 customers are still without power.
