The Missouri Independent is reporting former Southwest Missouri Congressman Billy Long, President Trump’s pick to lead the IRS, received $137,000 in campaign contributions, enough to pay off a personal loan to his campaign.
The contributions came in soon after Long was picked to be the next IRS commissioner.
Some of the donations are connected to companies that would be policed by the agency Long has been nominated to run.
Long’s appointment is still awaiting U.S. Senate confirmation.
