A man has been arrested in a Springfield cold case from the late 80s.
Springfield Police says advances in D-N-A testing has led to the arrest of 62-year-old Paul Bowles of Fulton in connection to the rape and murder of 18-year-old Jennifer Williams in Springfield in 1989.
Bowles was in the Fulton State Hospital when he was arrested.
He is in the Calloway County Jail for second degree murder, forcible rape and forcible sodomy.
Williams’ body was found in September of 1989 on West Chestnut by three juveniles.
Her husband had reported her missing a week earlier.
