A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Route Y-Y east of Springfield Saturday afternoon.
The Highway Patrol says a 42-year-old man from Springfield was thrown from the motorcycle after it left the road at a high rate of speed and struck an embankment.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
