SGF Police Release Photos of Robbery Suspect

Springfield Police have posted new pictures of the suspect who robbed the Walgreens store at 2951 South Campbell at gunpoint earlier this week.

Police also confirmed that the suspect brandished a gun during the robbery.

Police believe he left the area on foot.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Springfield Police.

Springfield Flags at Half-staff Saturday

Flags at Springfield city owned facilities will be lowered to half-staff Saturday in memory of Larry Flett.

Flett died Monday at the noble hill sanitary landfill when the articulated dump truck he was driving overturned and caught fire.

Here is a statement from Mayor Ken McClure:

Under the authority of the attached letter received from the Office of the Governor, I am directing that the flags of the United States, the State of Missouri, and the City Of Springfield be lowered to half-staff on all facilities owned by the City of Springfield from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, March 29 in memory of Larry L. Flett, who passed away March 24 in a tragic accident at the Springfield Sanitary Landfill. In addition to being an employee of the City of Springfield, Mr. Flett served in the Springfield Police Department as well as the United States Air Force.

Members Only Production Trailer Stolen

A popular local 80’s cover band is out about $50,000 worth of lights and sound systems after someone stole a production trailer carrying their equipment.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of property belonging to Members Only.

The heist was caught on security cameras, which show a blue Chevy truck entering a parking lot, where the thieves broke the lock on the trailer, attached the trailer to the truck and drove off.

Members Only Production Manager Tom Hembree says he is providing law enforcement with the security footage to assist in identifying the thieves.

Severe Weather Risk Ramps Up in the Ozarks Saturday Evening and Sunday

The risk for severe thunderstorms ramps up Saturday night in the Ozarks as storms move in from the west.

The National Weather Service says large hail will be the biggest risk, especially along and north of a line from Joplin to Stockton to Osage Beach.

Those storms will continue to move across the area Sunday morning. Confidence is higher in areas east of Highway 65 seeing severe storms on Sunday afternoon, but there is still some question on where redevelopment occurs.

M-S-U Celebrates 120th Birthday

Missouri State University is celebrating a birthday.

The university was founded in March of 1905 as the Fourth District Normal School.

The first building on campus was Carrington Hall.

The name was later changed to Southwest Missouri State and finally Missouri State University in 2005.

Branson Police Arrest Leader of Online Predator Hunting Group

The leader of an online predator hunting group was arrested in Branson.

Branson Police say they responded to a report of a disturbance at a fast-food restaurant.

They arrested Alex Rosen of Predator Poachers who was confronting an employee who he alleged was pedophile.

He is charged with harassment, disturbing the peace and trespassing.

Search for Man Missing From Nursing Home

Springfield Police are searching for a man who left a nursing home last week.

Police say 74-year-old Darrell Jackson was last seen at a nursing home on West Mount Vernon on March 17.

He was wearing a white shirt and jeans.

Armed Robbery at Walgreens Store

A gunman robbed the Walgreens store at Campbell and Battlefield Wednesday morning.

Police say the man left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police have not located the suspect yet. 

No one was injured.
