A detention officer at the Greene County Jail faces charges of stealing money from an inmate brought to the jail from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Caydon Lewis is now on the other side of the bars. Detectives say Lewis took $900 from the inmate’s personal bag after he arrived at the jail.
Lewis, who worked in the property room, apparently admitted to taking the money because of financial issues, then said he felt guilty and burned the cash.
