David Spears, convicted of child endangerment and hindering a prosecution in the rape and murder of his stepdaughter, Rowan Ford, in 2007 has been fired from the state public defender’s office.
Spears had been hired about a year after he was released from prison.
At a budget hearing earlier this month, lawmakers told the director of the public defender’s office that she needed to fire spears before they would listen to the office’s budget proposal.
Spears was fired on Monday.
