The winter storm has disrupted blood donations in southwest Missouri.
The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks says a number of blood drives have been cancelled, threatening the local blood supply.
To help replenish reserves, Mercy Hospital in Springfield is holding an emergency blood drive today running from 8a.m. through 2 p.m. in the Catherine McAuley Conference Room. CBCO spokeswoman Michelle Teter says the blood center is mostly in need of O-negative, A-negative, and O-positive blood types.
