Wintry Weather Monday Through Wednesday Next Week

Confidence is increasing in a series of storm systems bringing accumulating wintry precipitation to the Ozarks on Monday into the middle of next week.

The National Weather Service in Springfield says at this time, the greatest chances for winter weather impacts will be north of Springfield, but the exact track of the system and precipitation types and amounts are still unknown.

Here’s the latest from the NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook:

Colder air will move in next week with multiple chances for
winter precip beginning as early as Monday night with additional
rounds through mid week. While exact winter types and amounts are
uncertain, a winter mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow will
likely cause at least minor impacts across the area next week,
especially along and north of an west to east line through
Springfield. Stay up on the forecast as we head through the
weekend.
