The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting west of Springfield Tuesday.
Springfield police received a report that a juvenile female had been shot and killed at an unknown location. A woman later called the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to report her daughter missing from the 5600 block of West Farm Road 140.
Deputies searched the location and found the girl’s body in a brushy area behind a house. Detectives are trying to locate persons of interest. Sheriff’s officials say there is no threat to the public.
