Man Jailed In Exeter Woman’s Death

A missing woman from Exeter has been found dead and a man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death.

Barry County Sheriff Danny Boyd says Aaron Malone is charged with second degree murder, abandonment of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

Aspen Lewis disappeared from her home Monday.

Buc-ees Sues Duckees For Trademark Infringement

Buc-ees is suing a liquor store in Kimberling City over trademark infringement.

The lawsuit claims Duckees Full-Service Drive-thru markets clothing, hats, and other items using a logo that mimics the trademark of Buc-ees.

A judge has filed a document to move the dispute to a mediation program.

Early Morning Car Crash Damages Home in Springfield

Police in Springfield are investigating after a car crashed into a house early Wednesday morning.

Officers say the crash happened along East Bennett near Ingram Mill Road.

Allegedly, the driver of the vehicle fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into the home. No signs of impairment were found or observed by police at the scene.

The driver was not injured, neither was anyone inside the home at the time of the crash.

Woman from Springfield Wanted on Burglary, Attempted Stealing Charges

Authorities in Greene County are currently searching for a woman from Springfield who is wanted on charges of attempted stealing and burglary.

Investigators say 32-year-old Courtney Mayberry stole an Amazon package and two laptops from a home in Greene County in April of this year. She’s also accused of trying to steal a car back in July as well.

A warrant has been issued for her arrest in connection with both cases.

The Greater Springfield Area Crime Stoppers describe Mayberry as a white female standing five-foot-seven, 130 pounds with brownish/blonde hair and hazel eyes. She has multiple tattoos, including a rose tattoo on her left arm and a heart tattoo with the name “Nikia” on her collarbone.

MO Sports Hall of Fame C-E-O Resigns

The C-E-O and executive of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame has resigned.

In a news release, the Sports Hall of Fame announced that Byron Shive’s tenure as Executive Director and C-E-O will end at the end of the year.

The organization’s board met Friday to discuss financial issues related to the Price Cutter Charity Championship Tournament and ongoing operations.

The annual distribution was cancelled because the money raised by the golf tournament was unavailable.

The board of directors named former executive director Jerald Andrews to be interim C-E-O.

Shive succeeded Andrew as director when he retired in 2022.

SILVER Advisory For Granby Man

An Endangered SILVER Advisory has been issued for a Granby man.

The Granby Police Department says 79-year-old Dan Black disappeared from the 1100 block of South Main Street in Granby Tuesday morning.

He was wearing a tan cowboy hat and Western shirt.

He has a tattoo of a horse on his right arm.

He drives a silver 2018 Dodge Journey with license number J-T-24-G.

Black has dementia.

If you see him, you are asked to call 9-1-1 or the Granby Police Department.

Health officials with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department are warning residents of the increasing number of respiratory illnesses being reported across the Ozarks.

According to reports, the number of cases concerning COVID-19, the flu, and whooping cough are on the rise, among other illnesses.

With Thanksgiving and the holiday season quickly approaching, healthcare experts are helping people be better prepared to be around young children and older relatives in celebration.

Dr. Sadas Sohrab from Mercy Hospital in Springfield says that vaccinations are incredibly important in preventing the spread of illness and disease, along with exhibiting great personal hygiene.

Frequently washing your hands, covering your mouth when coughing, sanitizing surfaces, are considering among the best ways to prevent illnesses from being passed from person to person.

Longtime Broadcaster, and Springfield Area Sports Hall of Famer Rob Evans Passes Away

After over 40 years on the mic, legendary area broadcaster Rob Evans has passed away.

Evans, a Springfield native, graduated from Missouri State University in the early 80s and went on to a career in play-by-play for minor league baseball that spanned over thirty years (1984-2012).

He was also a fill-in for the Montreal Expos during the 2003-2004 seasons.

He also did play-by-play for Missouri State Women’s Basketball and Football from 2008 to 2013.

In recent years, Evans was the play-by-play voice for Blue Springs South athletics with Sideliner Sports.

He passed away Sunday after an extensive cancer battle. Evans was recently honored as a new inductee into the Springfield Area Sports Hall of Fame back in October of this year.

Mayor McClure & 3 Other MO Mayors Want Gov. Kehoe to Address Youth Gun Violence

Springfield Mayor Ken McClure and three other mayors of major Missouri cities have written a letter to in-coming Governor Mike Kehoe asking him to address gun violence among teenagers.

Mayor McClure’s letter was co-signed by St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, and Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe.

The mayors advocated for Governor-elect Kehoe to change state laws to align with federal laws that prohibit minors from possessing handguns.

They also asked for an improved system to report weapons-related incidents in schools and create a public database for to inform parents about youth gun violence.
