Motorcyclist Killed in Ozarks Tech Parking Lot

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in a college parking lot.

Springfield Police say 31-year-old Johnathan Koontz was killed when his motorcycle struck a curb in the Ozarks Technical Community College parking lot.

The crash sent him through landscaping into a retaining wall.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Missouri Executes Marcellus Williams

Despite calls for clemency, the state of Missouri executed a man Tuesday evening in Bonne Terre.

Marcellus Williams died by lethal injection at 6 PM Tuesday.

Williams was convicted first-degree murder in 1998 stabbing death of Lisha Gayle.

On Monday, Governor Parson and the Missouri Supreme Court rejected a request for a new hearing and clemency petition that had been signed by Gayle’s family.

Lebanon Police Searching for Missing Teenager

The Lebanon Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a teenage girl who was reported missing.

Officers say Kristen Jones was last seen on Monday when she left her home on Jesse Street, and has not been heard from since.

Her location is as yet unknown, but authorities believe she is still in and around the Lebanon area.

Police describe Jones as a five-foot, two-inch tall female, weighing around 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

City of Nixa Announces Plans for New Police Headquarters

The City of Nixa is now preparing to build a new police headquarters in the city in the near future.

In a release from city officials Monday, it was revealed five acres of land has been purchased by the city along Highway 14 at Leann Drive for the new facility.

Plans for the building state it will be a one-story building at around 22,000 square feet, and will be built with the possibility of future expansion in mind.

The project will be partially funded by a recent 3/4 sales tax that was passed by residents in Nixa in April of last year.

Groundbreaking for the new headquarters will take place early next year, with a 14-month estimated timeline for completion of the project in 2026.

Man from Howell County Killed in Storm that Knocked Over Camper in Caulfield

One man is dead after a camper that was caught in a storm blew over in Caulfield over the weekend.

Investigators say the camper was at the Cloud 9 Ranch Club, a camping and ATV/UTV resort in Howell County near West Plains.

When the storm came through the area Saturday, it blew the camper over, killing one man inside.

There was a second person inside at the time of the incident, but they were not injured.

The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.

Man Arrested in Republic, Accused of Crashing Car into Amazon Warehouse

A man is in custody in Republic after he allegedly crashed a car into the Amazon Fulfillment Center Warehouse.

According to Republic Police, the crash occurred just after 1:00 a.m. Monday morning, where the man reportedly crashed into the building, then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was found shortly after the crash, and was taken into custody.

Officials expect charges to be filed later today or Tuesday. The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time.

Fatal Shooting In Springfield Park

Springfield Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Nichols Park early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the park, around 2:30 AM, for a reported disturbance and found a man with gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

A woman was taken into custody.

The name of the victim is not being released until next of kin can be notified.

The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Latest Reports Show Threats Towards Nixa Elementary School Came from Outside the U.S.

Days after a threat was made towards High Pointe Elementary in Nixa, investigators are determining where exactly the message originated.

According to the latest report from the Missouri Information Analysis Center, the message was set up with a VPN to make it appear that the threat was sent from the Kansas City area. In actuality, the IP addresses were traced back to a foreign country.

When the threat was discovered, High Pointe Elementary was evacuated for the safety of students and staff.

Authorities say that country does not recognize the United States legal process.

The case has now been turned over to the FBI, who will continue the investigation as similar threats have been made towards other schools across Missouri, and the U.S., creating a national investigation.

Springfield Police Warning of Scam Using Officer’s Name

The Springfield Police Department is warming people of a scam involving a caller impersonating a police officer.

In a Facebook post, Springfield Police say the caller is using the name of an actual Springfield Police officer and demands money.

They have had reports from people as far away as Texas receiving these calls.

Springfield Police are warning people not to fall for it.
