Trump Makes Endorsements In Missouri Governor’s Race

President Donald Trump made his voice heard over the weekend regarding the Governor’s race in Missouri.

Trump posted on Truth Social “I can’t hurt two of them by endorsing one, so therefore, I’m going to endorse, for Governor of the great state of Missouri, Jay Ashcroft, Mike Kehoe, and Bill Eigel. Choose any one of them, you can’t go wrong.”

Power Line Falls, Lands on Fire Truck in Springfield

A fire truck was damaged after a power line fell onto the vehicle while SFD battled a blaze.

Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire at a home on West Olive near Lexington Avenue.

While at the scene, authorities say heat from the fire on the front porch of the home caused a nearby power line to fall.

The pole fell onto one of Springfield Fire’s vehicles, but no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

One Dead, One Arrested after Shooting and Standoff with Springfield Police

A man is dead, and another in custody after a shooting led to a standoff with officers in Springfield.

Investigators say the shooting happened at around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning at the Wicked Superstore near Kearney and Benton in Springfield.

When authorities arrived, they found 31-year-old D’Vaunte Grant suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

After the shooting, Springfield Police identified the suspect and tracked him to a home on North Lexington.

A standoff ensued, but after a short time, officers were able to arrest the man without further incident.

The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time.

Governor Parson Honors Rogersville Woman Aubren Dudley

Missouri Governor Mike Parson paid tribute to a woman killed in a traffic crash at the intersection of Hwy 126 and Route T near Golden City.

Governor Parson said in a post on social media that Aubren Dudley of Rogersville had worked for the children’s division of the Missouri Department of Social Services for five years.

The Highway Patrol said Dudley’s vehicle struck the side of a truck on July 24th. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Springfield School’s Back-To-School Bash Is Fast Approaching

Springfield Public Schools will hold its annual Back-To-School Bash Saturday, July 27th.

Director of Family Support Services Dr. Ron Woodard says there will be live music and games but more importantly, there will be free resources available for families such as immunizations, physicals, groceries and 5,000 backpacks full of school supplies.

The event runs from 9:30am to 2pm in the Springfield Expo Center.

Aurora-Marionville Police Credit Citizens

The Aurora and Marionville Police Department are praising multiple citizens who called to report a burglary at a Marionville business.

Four suspects from Kansas are in the Lawrence County Jail after loading six motorbikes, from Marionville Power Sports, into a U-Haul and leading law enforcement on a chase that ended in Greene County.

The Police said, in a social media post, that this is why they say that if you see something suspicious call them.

All six of the motorbikes were recovered.

Springfield Man Sentenced For Child Porn

A man has been sentenced for sexual exploitation of children.

The Department of Justice says 32-year-old Travis Isham of Springfield has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison without parole.

He will have to register as a sex offender after he is released.

Isham admitted to producing pornography using his phone with two children.

Investigators said he tried to destroy the phone and tried to trade it in at a cell phone store.

Ozark Empire Fair Begins Thursday

The Ozark Empire Fair kicked things off for the 88th time on Thursday. As usual, it will take place at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, and runs through August 3rd.

Fairgrounds CEO Aaron Owen says some new things at this years Fair includes a BMX bike show. Owen also adds the Fair is the largest community celebration in Springfield.

Man from Birch Tree Accused of Kidnapping his Daughter Arrested, Facing Formal Charges

A man from Birch Tree is in custody on charges of kidnapping his own daughter.

Investigators say 30-year-old Joseph Raider had been contacting his ex-girlfriend, threatening suicide if he didn’t get to see his child.

The woman said she finally agreed to meet with him the night of Monday, July 23.

When they arrived at the Casey’s General Store along Gibson Avenue in West Plains, she noticed to smell of alcohol, and said Raider appeared to be intoxicated.

That’s when authorities say an argument began, and Raider grabbed the child and fled the scene.

The child’s mother did admit that Raider is the father of her daughter, but that he doesn’t appear on the birth certificate or any paperwork certifying him as the child’s father.

On Tuesday morning, law enforcement was contacted by a local business owner claiming to have seen Raider and the child at the Lynch Equipment Company.

The witness invited the two inside, then locked them inside the business until police arrived.

Raider was taken into custody, and the child returned to her mother. He has been charged with parental kidnapping, and is being held in the Howell County Jail.

Woman from Rogersville Dead Following Crash with a Semi-Truck

A woman from Rogersville is dead after investigators say her car hit a semi-truck.

Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say 30-year-old Aubren Dudley was driving southbound at the intersection of Highway 126 and Route T near Golden City Tuesday afternoon.

Reports show that she failed to yield at the intersection, and drive into the side of the semi, which was traveling eastbound.

Dudley was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries have been reported for the driver of the semi-truck.

It is the 53rd traffic fatality for MSHP Troop D in 2024.
