Adam Wainwright in Springfield, Holding First Concert at Hammons Field

Legendary St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright is stopping in Springfield again, but not for a rehab start.

“Uncle Charlie” as he’s affectionately called, will be at Hammons Field for a music concert tomorrow night, the first concert in the history of the ballpark, in partnership with the Hatch Foundation.

It will also be the largest non-baseball event in the stadium’s history.

Crews have already begun putting together the stage and other parts of the concert.

Tiny Homes May Come To Branson

A group called “Elevate Branson” is attempting to bring tiny homes to Branson.

The Branson Board of Alderman passed the first reading of the plan, but has more questions about the proposed development.

The second reading of the proposal will be held at the next Board of Alderman’s meeting.

Merriam -Webster defines a “tiny home” as typically having less than 500 square feet.

Ozark Man Sentenced In Overdose Death

A judge has sentenced a Christian County man for selling drugs to a 16-year-old girl who died from an overdose.

Jacob Sayre of Ozark will be required to complete a 120-day prison program and then serve five-years probation.

He pleaded guilty in March to involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance.

Court documents say Sayre sold and dropped a package to a 16-year-old girl in September of 2022.

The girl was found dead in her bedroom the next day with a lethal amount of fentanyl in her system.

Investigation Into SPD Officer-Involved Crash

An investigation has determined that a Springfield Police vehicle involved in a crash on March 22nd entered an intersection on a red light at a high rate of speed.

Officer Isaiah Houseknecht had his emergency lights and siren on when he collided with another vehicle at Kansas Expressway and Battlefield.

An investigation determined that vehicle entered the intersection on a green light.

The Springfield Police department is conducting an internal investigation into Officer Houseknecht’s actions.

CBCO In Need For Type O Negative Blood

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks has issued an urgent request for O Negative blood.

CBCO officials say the current supply of O Negative is critically low, with only one day’s supply available.

They say O Negative blood is crucial in emergencies when there isn’t time to type and match a patient’s blood.

O Negative donors are being asked to donate blood immediately.

Honor Flight of the Ozarks Takes First Veterans Trip of 2024

Local veterans organization Honor Flight of the Ozarks is taking their first set of veterans on a remarkable trip to Washington D.C.

81 veterans stemming from World War II, the Korean conflict, and Vietnam, are being accompanied by 81 guardians on a flight to the nation’s capitol. While in D.C. the veterans will visit numerous monuments, including the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam memorials.

Many of the guardians are spouses, siblings, childrens, and other friends/relatives of the veterans.

The return flight will be arriving at the Springfield-Branson National Airport, where those on the flight will receive a “Welcome Home” from other friends and loved ones who want to celebrate their outstanding service and sacrifice.

Endangered Person Advisory Cancelled after Missing 16-Year-Old is Found

A teenage girl is now home safe after being reported missing earlier this week.

Officers say 16-year-old Ariah Matthews disappeared from the area of West Nichols and North Douglas in Springfield Tuesday night.

She was considered endangered because of a mental health diagnosis that she had stopped taking medication for.

Investigators say Matthews was located safely, but have not said where or when she was found.

Convoy of Hope Responds to Northwest Arkansas and Southeast Missouri

Springfield-based Convoy of Hope has sent multiple semi loads of relief supplies to communities in northwest Arkansas and southeast Missouri slammed by tornadoes and severe weather over the Memorial Day weekend.

Convoy is working with partners in the Rogers and Bentonville areas, as well as Sikeston, Missouri to deliver essentials to survivors of the storms.

Convoy of Hope has responded to 39 disasters this year.

Greene County Authorities Investigating Human Remains near Highways H and KK

The Greene County Sheriff is investigating human remains found in the area of State Highway H and KK near Pleasant Hope.

Deputies were notified of the discovery on Monday, and responded to find a body which was decomposed to mostly skeletal remains.

An autopsy is scheduled with the Greene County Medical Examiner.

Sheriff Jim Arnott is asking anyone with information on the case to call the Greene County Sheriff’s Office crime tip hotline at 417-829-6230.

One Dead Following Crash between Car and Bicyclist in Mountain Home, MO

Authorities in Mountain Home, Missouri say one person is dead after a collision between a bicycle and a car.

The crash happened Monday afternoon near Highway 60 and Country Road 3500 at around 5:00pm.

Details of the case are limited and have not been released to the public, include the identity of the person and the exact cause of the crash.
