Fog Causing Problems In the Ozarks

Fog is causing problems in the Springfield area.

The Springfield – Branson National Airport has grounded all flights to and from Springfield.

American Airlines says they will not resume flights until 10 AM Thursday.

Fog caused a crash on I-44 at mile marker 75 near US 160.

No information on how many vehicles or injuries are involved.

Springfield Synagogue Vandalized

Springfield Police are investigating vandalism at a synagogue.

Windows were smashed and a sign was pulled off a brick wall at the Children of Jacob synagogue at Seminole and Freemont.

The sign was abandoned up the block from the synagogue’s location.

Springfield Police say if you have any information, you are asked to contact the department.

Governor Parson said one of his proudest achievements was his efforts to repair and improve Missouri’s aging highways and bridges, highlighted by the extending of Interstate 70 to six lanes.

Parson said he wanted to be seen as a practical leader contrasting with the aggressive and divisive style of his predecessor Eric Greitens.

Springfield Sub Shop Faces Second Break-In Since November

A local restaurant is dealing with their second break-in in just two months.

The business named “The Sub Shop” on Seminole in Springfield has been in business for over 20 years, and opened Tuesday to find broken glass and more signs that someone had entered the building illegally.

Fortunately, no money is left overnight at the establishment, so nothing was taken. Two years ago the shop also saw an unsuccessful  attempt to steal the on-sight ATM.

Country Music Superstar Chris Stapleton Coming to the Ozarks to Perform at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena

The Ozarks excitement is ramping up, as world-renowned country singer and Grammy Award winner Chris Stapleton will be performing in the area this summer.

Stapleton will bring his “All-American Road Show” to the Bass Pro Shops Thunder Ridge Nature Arena on June 13 of this year, along with Marcus King and Allen Stone.

To see the 8-time Grammy Award winner perform in Ridgedale, tickets will go on sale February 2 at 10:00 a.m.

El Dorado Springs Appoints New Police Chief after Entire Force Resigns

Residents in El Dorado Springs are now welcoming a new chief of police after watching their entire police force leave in the last few months.

Brett Dawn was officially appointed to the role on January 19, while the last two remaining officers on the force of seven are leaving in the next couple of weeks.

Last year, the department saw two officers resign to take positions in Cedar County, two other officers retired, and the police chief resign.

Dawn said he is already working on hiring officers to refill the department, which has been understaffed for over half a year.

Missouri Senate Leader Removes Several “Freedom Caucus” Members From Committee Chairmanships

The Republican leader of the Missouri Senate has removed several senators from their committee leadership positions.

Senate President Pro Tem Caleb Rowden accused several members of the Freedom Caucus of intentionally trying to destroy the Senate.

Senators Denny Hoskins, Rick Brattin, Andrew Koenig, and Bill Eigel were removed from their committee chairmanships and asked to give up their parking spots at the Capitol.

Eigel, who is running for Governor, says Jefferson City is ruled by a “uniparty cartel of special interests, RINO’s, and Democrats.”

Hoskins and Rowden are both running for Secretary of State in the 2024 GOP Primary.
