A Springfield man has been sentenced in federal court for shooting at a deputy.
A press release from the Department of Justice says 41-year-old Richard Friederich has been sentenced to 13 years and 10 months in federal prison, without parole, for firing a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol at a Greene County deputy in August of 2022.
The deputy was assisting U-S Marshalls arrest him after he escaped a halfway house in Springfield.
Friederich pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal law enforcement officer with a dangerous and deadly weapon and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
