A man is in custody after a short chase and standoff near York Elementary School Wednesday night.
Detectives were on surveillance near Nichols Park on a drug case when a man crashed into a detectives car.
After a short chase, the suspect crashed again near Park and Central, then fled on foot. Officers tracked him to a house near Central and Marion and arrested him.
The detective in the car that was hit had minor injuries.
