Third party sites selling tickets at inflated prices are causing probles for some Springfield venues.

Gillioz Executive Director Geoff Steel says third party sites are selling duplicate tickets.

Anyone with a duplicate ticket has to buy a ticket or be turned away.

Springfield Little Theater Marketing Director Shannon Scherrow says some sites have used the theater’s logo to appear official.

Missing California Woman Found in Kimberling City

A missing California woman has been found in Kimberling City.

According to Kimberling City Police Department, 24-year-old Celina Zumpano of Sacramento, California, was reported missing by her mother in early April.

Her mother told authorities that she thought her daughter was in Missouri with a man she knew. Kimberling City Police found Zumpano was a passenger in a car during a traffic stop Sunday evening.

She was safe and notified her mother.

The driver was arrested on outstanding warrants from Barry County.

Kansas Fugitive Caught In El Dorado Springs

A Kansas fugitive from justice was arrested in El Dorado Springs.

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Department says 31-year-old Mathew Charles was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Sedgwick County, Kansas.

He is being held in the Cedar County Jail awaiting extradition back to Kansas.

Suspect in Cassidy Rainwater Murder Granted Change of Venue

One of the two suspects in the high-profile death of Cassidy Rainwater is being granted a change of venue.

James Phelps was given the change of venue on April 21, changing his case from Dallas County to Jasper County.

He will be due in court for a case management conference on May 19.

The other suspect, Timothy Norton, will appear in court in Buffalo for a criminal setting on May 2.

The two are accused of abducting Rainwater in 2021 and locking her in a cage before killing her and dismembered her body.

Both Phelps and Norton are charged with first-degree murder and abandonment of a corpse.

Man from Texas County Facing Child Sex Crime Charges

A man from Texas County is in custody, accused of sex crimes against children.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Devan Vandgrifft-Wnorowski, of Licking, MO, has been charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse.

Police were tipped off to his crimes during a camping trip over the weekend.

A 16-year-old, one of four that Vandgrifft-Wnorowski was supervising during the trip, claimed he sexually assaulted her.

The other children on the camping trip corroborated the story.

One Man Dead in Officer Involved Shooting

A man is dead after an officer involved shooting on Friday, April 21st.

Officers initially responded to a call for a suicidal man in Polk County near Fair Play around 2:30 PM.

No officers were injured in the shooting, and the deceased man’s identity has not been released.

Details about what led to the shooting have not been clarified at this time.

5 Injured in Springfield Gas Station Shooting

Five individuals were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting near Downtown Springfield.

Officers responded to the Kum n’ Go gas station off of E Elm Street at about 12:40 a.m. on April 23rd. Two victims were in one vehicle, and three were in another.

Officers do not have a suspect in custody at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.

Freeze Watch in Effect for Southwest Missouri Saturday Night into Sunday Morning

The National Weather Service is issuing a freeze watch with cool temperatures expected in the Ozarks over the weekend.

Temperatures will be in the high 30’s-low 40’s Saturday morning, with high temperatures Saturday afternoon in the low 50’s.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, temperatures could dip below freezing, put areas along and north of Highway 60 under the freeze watch.

NWS says widespread freeze is expected for much of southwest Missouri.

Crash Kills Teenage Girl in Taney County

The Missouri State Highway Patrols says a 16-year-old girl is dead following a rollover crash in Taney County.

Trooper say the girl, a Powersite, MO native, was driving on Highway 76 Friday morning near Kirbyville when she crossed the center line and then overcorrected.

The vehicle allegedly ran off the right side of the roadway, hit a guy wire cable and flipped.

Investigators say the vehicle was upside down when they arrived at the scene.

The teenage girl was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1:40 a.m.

University Heights Development Receives No Vote by Planning and Zoning Commission

In a 7-1 vote, Springfield’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted against the controversial University Heights Developement.

The development at the corner of Sunshine and National will have a “no recomendation” sent to City Council by the commission.

“I don’t believe it compliments the neighborhood,” said Commissioner Bruce Colony said. “I don’t believe the neighborhood is on board, and so I can’t support it at this time.”
