Motorcyclist Killed Monday Morning Identified

Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Monday morning.

Springfield Police say 19-year-old Riley Fry of Rogersville crashed into an S-U-V at the intersection of Battlefield and West Bypass around 7 A.M Monday morning.

Fry died at the scene.

The driver of the S-U-V was taken to a hospital with injuries.

Bicyclist Dies From Injuries Sustained Last Week

Springfield Police say a bicyclist has died from injuries after being struck last week.

Investigators say a van turn from Lakewood onto National striking a bicycle ridden by 79-year-old Samuel Sullivan on February 15.

Police are asking anyone with more information on this crash to contact the Springfield Police Department.

Police in Nixa Searching for Missing Teen

Authorities in Nixa are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenager.

Police say 19-year-old Kyle Burnett disappeared Monday morning, and was last seen walking south along North Heartland Avenue.

He was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, a cowboy hat and boots.

Officers say he is an at-risk individual due to mental health diagnoses. He reportedly also has made threats to himself recently.

One Dead Following Crash Involving Motorcycle and SUV in Springfield

A motorcyclist is dead following a crash with an SUV Monday morning.

Authorities say the motorcyclist was turning onto Battlefield Road from West Bypass at around 7 a.m. this morning and collided with the SUV.

The driver of the motorcycle died of his injuries, while the driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital.

The identity of the two drivers has not been released at this time.

MODOT Asking for Public Feedback

MODOT wants comments from the public on improvements for Chestnut Expressway.

The project will start at the I-44 exit and end East of Highway 65.

The project includes traffic signal improvements, sidewalks, and resurfacing the roadway.

MODOT estimates the project will cost almost 8 million dollars.

Intruder at Willard High School Identified by Police

Police in Willard say they know who broke into the High School over the weekend.

A message sent from the school district to parents and staff says it happened around 12:45 Sunday Morning when someone broke into the school but left before officers could get to the scene.

Police say the suspect was identified using security cameras.

The district says this type of behaviors will not be tolerated and anyone who endangers the safety of others will face consequences as allowed by both school policy and law.

Springfield Ranks Among Cheapest Cities to Rent

Springfield is being listed as one of the most affordable places to live in the United States.

A study from Rent.com ranks the queen city as the second most affordable metropolitan city to rent an apartment.

In addition, the Wall Street Journal says Springfield is the number one city in the US for remote working.

Springfield Public Schools is honoring the crossing guards who keep children safe during pickup and drop-off.

The district says it’s partnering with SGF Yields to celebrate them.

Cross Safe, the company who managed crossing guards in Springfield, says it is still in need of employees.

Large Hole Closes Road in South Springfield

Road crews in Springfield are investigating the cause of a hole that opened up in south Springfield.

Investigators say they were called to the area of Swan Street near South Campbell and discovered the hole.

It was measured at over 4 feet wide.

There is no timetable as to when the road will be repaired and reopened.
