A private news service that covers state politics is reporting that Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller will announce his candidacy for Missouri Secretary of State at this weekend’s Lincoln Days in Springfield.
MOScout reports Schoeller’s committee treasurer is former State Representative Paul Curtman.
Schoeller was the Republican candidate for Secretary of State in 2012, edging out Scott Rupp and Bill Stouffer in a three-way primary.
The current Secretary of State, Jay Ashcroft, has been listed as a likely candidate for Governor in 2024.
