After being absent for almost four years, the Arena Football League (AFL) is planning a return.
The league announced Tuesday that new owners have been found for a revival in 2024.
AFL president of player development Travelle Gaines says 16 teams will be introduced into the league initially, with some former teams as well as some new ones.
The release also says they have appointed a commissioner in Lee Hutton III. He will be the first black commissioner in the history of U.S. based professional sports.
The list of teams and cities will be released at a later time.
