A new study by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce shows many parents are
leaving the workforce due to a lack of childcare or the high cost of childcare.
The study shows more than 30 per cent of Missouri parents have left a job or
not taken a job in the last year because of childcare issues. The study reports
that has cost the state’s economy more than 1-point-3 billion dollars. Many
childcare facilities closed during the pandemic and did not re-open.
