McKeown Sentenced to Life Without Parole

Elizabeth McKeown, the woman on trial for the death of Barbara Foster, has been sentenced to life without parole.

McKeown rear ended Foster in Springfield in 2018, and when Foster got out of her car to look at the damage, McKeown intentionally ran her over, killing her.

McKeown was found guilty of first-degree murder in June.

Semi Roll-Over on 160 Near Willard

A semi roll-over crash has caused major traffic headaches for folks driving on Hwy 160 between Ash Grove and Willard Friday morning.

The Highway Patrol says the driver lost control of the rig, which rolled over onto the road, blocking both lanes of traffic.

The crash also damaged a power pole.

Traffic had to detour at Farm Road 123 and Farm Road 79.

Stabbing Under Investigation in Springfield

Springfield Police are investigating a stabbing Wednesday night.

Police were called to a home near north Campbell and Central around 8:30 pm.

Investigators say a man had suffered stab wounds to his torso.

He was taken to a hospital.

Police have not released the name of the victim or suspect.

UPDATE: Name Released In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Springfield Police have released the name of a motorcyclist killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon.

Police say 24 year old Kyle McMillin struck an S-U-V that was turning onto Park from Chestnut.

This is the sixteenth fatal motor vehicle crash in Springfield this year.

UPDATE: Lebanon Shooting

A man is facing charges for the shooting death of his step-brother.

A probable cause statements says Kevin Ash is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 45 year old Bobby Langston of Lebanon.

The shooting happened at a home on West Elm in Lebanon Wednesday.

An argument between the step-brothers lead to the shooting.

Camden County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Wanted Fugitive

Camden County Sheriff’s Deputies say they are searching for a man wanted in connection with the death of his roommate.

32-year-old Jordan Jones is wanted on an unspecified warrant, but authorities say he has not been officially charged in the death of his roommate, Michael Varney.

The 43-year-old Varney was found dead Tuesday after his girlfriend contacted police saying he had been hit by a car.

Witnesses later told deputies they had seen Varney arguing with a man earlier that day that was described as “volatile” in nature.

Jones is said to be driving in a late model green Chevy pickup with possible front-end damage.

The Sheriff’s Office says he is known to frequent the Camdenton, Lebanon and Macks Creek areas.

Deputies ask that if you have any information about Varney’s death or Jones’ whereabouts, that you contact the Camden County Detective Bureau at (573) 346-2243.

3 Inmates Dead at South Central Correctional Facility

According to a news release Thursday, three inmates at the South Central Correctional Facility in Licking have died within a 24-hour period.

Kaleb Smith died early Wednesday morning, August 31, at around 6:30 a.m.

Smith was serving time in prison for numerous charges, including burglary, forgery, stealing, and possession of a controlled substance.

Terrell Dawson was pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m. Thursday morning.

Dawson was serving life in prison on charges of two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, two counts of kidnapping and first-degree burglary.

Roy Sinden was pronounced dead just over two hours later Thursday morning, at around 3:45 a.m.

Sinden was serving a 10-year sentence for DWI. The 64-year-old’s death has been ruled as natural causes.

No cause of death has been given for Smith or Dawson, as authorities are still awaiting autopsy reports.

Tax Relief Special Session Delayed

Missouri’s State Senate is postponing the special session called by Governor Mike Parson.

Parson called the session for September 6th to address tax relief, but Senators say they want more time to put together a more comprehensive plan.

Majority Floor Leader Caleb Rowden said Wednesday, “Our goal is to provide Missourians with the most substantive and effective tax relief possible.”
