City Utilities officials are warning customers to be aware of scam calls.
Spokesman Joel Alexander says someone is posing as a C-U employee and calling people asking them for credit card numbers to update their account information or threatening to shut off utilities if a payment isn’t made immediately.
Alexander says C-U does not call people for credit card or bank account information and does not shut off utilities on a short notice.
