Construction has begun on the Grant Avenue Parkway Project.
The first phase of the project will create a direct connection between downtown Springfield and Sunshine near Bass Pro.
The project includes street resurfacing, a bike and pedestrian trail, utility upgrades and bridge improvements.
The second phase will focus on economic development and neighborhood improvements in the area.
