Missouri Remains Only State Without a New U-S House Map

There is still no compromise on a map for Congressional redistricting in Missouri.

The Missouri Senate approved a map last week, but the House rejected it.

A conference committee of Republicans and Democrats from the House and Senate are working on a compromise, but haven’t reached one yet.

Senate President Dave Schatz says if a map isn’t approved by May 13th, it won’t get done.

If lawmakers were to approve a new map by mid-May end of session, they could change state law to temporarily re-open the candidate filing period.

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of voters by Democratic attorneys asking a court to intervene in the stalled process, but no hearing has been scheduled.
