Traffic Stop in Laclede County may be Largest Drug Bust in County History

A routine traffic stop in Laclede County has law enforcement believing this may be the largest in the county’s history.

Police arrested Eric Matthew after authorities found drugs, guns, and a large amount of white powder that authorities believe may be Fentanyl.

An investigation is underway to determine what the white powder is. Investigators say if tests show the white powder to be Fentanyl, it will be the biggest drug bust Laclede County has ever seen.

Matthew was traveling from St. Louis to Springfield with the contents in his vehicle. No indication about his motives have been released.
