A Missouri State University professor and founder of a nonprofit organization has announced she is running for the Missouri statehouse.
Amy Blansit will run as a Democrat for Springfield’s House District 133.
The seat is currently held by Republican Curtis Trent, who has announced he is running for the state senate.
Blansit is founder of the Drew Lewis Foundation, a non-profit organization.
