Springfield Police Investigate Suspicious Deaths of Two People Inside National Cemetery on East Seminole

The Springfield Police Department is investigating what authorities call the “suspicious” deaths of two people found inside the National Cemetery in the 1700 block of east Seminole.

A 911 caller stated there were two deceased men in the cemetery with apparent gunshot wounds.

When officers arrived, they confirmed the men were dead and had suffered gunshot wounds.

The men have been identified as Mark D. Young, 38 and Justin S. Baker, 46, Springfield.

Detectives have determined the men knew each other and had been living together.

The police department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident.
