The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on crash on I-44 east of Fidelity that killed both drivers.
Toopers say a car driven by Janet Edwards, 58, Sarcoxie was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of the interstate when her vehicle was hit head-on by Andrew Wilson, 91, Neosho.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday night just after 10:30 p.m.
Media reports say Edwards was driving the wrong way for about seven miles and a Jasper County deputy was rushing to intercept the car when the crash happened.
