The Springfield Police Department has seen more applicants apply in the last couple of months.
The Department started it’s 2021 through 2024 recruitment plan July 1st.
They also changed their education requirements.
Applicants need at least 30 college credits whereas before they used to need 60 credits.
This summer they had 50 officer vacancies.
Now they only have 40 vacancies.
