Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible in the Ozarks Monday Night

Showers and storms will form along a cold front moving through the Ozarks Monday evening through late Monday night.

The National Weather Service says a few strong to severe storms will be possible between 6-10 p.m. for the northern Ozarks, with the storms tracking along I-44 between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Some damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, nickel size hail, and frequent lightning will be the biggest threats, but no widespread severe weather is expected.

Forecasters say the strongest probability of strong updrafts would favor areas west of Highway 65.

Those probabilities are also quite low, especially compared to locations north of the Ozarks, where better shear will be in place.
