A Greene County judge has sentenced a babysitter from Republic to seven years behind bars for abusing or neglecting an infant in her care.
Samantha Dillbeck does not get probation and has been taken into custody.
Prosecutors say in 2017, Dillbeck, who was eight and a half months pregnant, was stressed and though she didn’t mean to cause harm, shook “baby Grayson.”
Doctors who treated Grayson testified his injuries were not accidental.
Four years after the incident, Grayson is doing fine, and his parents say it’s a miracle.
Dillbeck’s lawyers say they plan to appeal the sentence.
The sentence was announced by Greene County Circuit Judge Calvin Holden.
