The Springfield-Greene County Health Department and the Jordan Valley Community Health Center have announced they will be phasing out the COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in the old Price Cutter building at Kansas Expressway and West Grand.
Among the reasons cited in a release to the media were increased availability of the vaccine; vaccination clinics being offered in smaller, more convenient settings; and onsite clinics at places like churches, businesses, and neighborhood centers.
“The Health Department and JVCHC partnered to establish this [mass vaccination] clinic as a centralized and easily accessible location where vaccines could be administered to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible,” SGCHD officials said in a statement.
Vaccinations can still be received at the Jordan Valley Community Health Center on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an extended time of 6 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons. Everyone who is 12 years of age or older can make an appointment at the CVCHC for Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Walk-in opportunities will be listed on the Vaccine 417 website.
