The state of Missouri says as of Friday, everyone who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is encouraging folks to attend Friday’s mega vaccination event at Hammons Student Center on the Missouri State University campus.
The clinic runs through 5 p.m.
Here’s the latest information from the health department’s news release:
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is excited to announce that all Missourians are now able to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Today, April 9, the state activated Phase 3 of vaccine distribution extending eligibility to everybody in Missouri 16 and older.
“We encourage all individuals to get vaccinated as soon as possible,” said Acting Director of Health Katie Towns. “Vaccination is the best defense we have against this virus and its variants. The sooner that individuals receive vaccine, the sooner our community can return to normal. Most importantly, the vaccines are saving lives.”
