West Bypass Bridge over James River Freeway to Have Closures During Next Two Weeks

The West Bypass bridge over James River Freeway will be closing one set of lanes for three days each of the next two weeks.

The closures are intended to allow a contractor to clean and seal the bridge deck/driving surfaces on the West Bypass bridge.

The westbound lanes of the bridge will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 12, and will stay closed until at least 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14. The opening time depends on construction delays and weather conditions.

The eastbound lanes of the bridge will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 19, and will continue until at least 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21.

There will be no signed detours, but drivers are encouraged to avoid the area during those times.
